*****

All alone!

The little girl sat on the grass,

deep in thoughts, on her own.

Shivering with grief,

her tears flowed freely,

consequent of life lived so brief.

Stolen joy,

parents never again to see,

a loving embrace, a far cry,

her only consolation, the broken toy.

Life similar to shattered glass,

the future stolen by a blast,

then dark curtains came down at last,

soaked with tears and blood,

knowing that tomorrow, will never come to pass.

*****

This piece was inspired by little orphans who lost their parents and loved ones in a tragic manner. The aftermath is a scathing emotional experience. I hope you feel their pain and loss through this poem.

All the best to you and yours.
